Usually in the fall and winter my lips need a little special treatment. They get a little dry, chapped, and sometimes even crack from the lack of humidity!
While most people usually think about hydrating those lips (which is important), but they neglect the importance of exfoliating. Exfoliating is just as importing if you want to keep your kissers smooth and healthy.
Instead of reaching for the lips scrubs or polishes that are on the market today, save your money! You can make your own, natural, non-toxic one with just a couple simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!
Here is a simple DIY recipe to make a delicious, natural, exfoliating lip scrub that leaves lips feeling smooth and rejuvenated.
While you can use any mix of essential oils for this do-it-yourself project, here are the reasons why I choose these oils!
- Peppermint essential oil gives your lips a cool and tingly sensation and it great for chapped lips. It can help to stimulate circulation under the lips and can create a “swelling” effect, thus making it great as a lip plumper.
- Wild Orange essential oil is refreshing and sweet and is perfect for an extra zing of flavor. It also has the ability to support the immune system when needed most, so this is especially great during cold weather months.
- Jojoba oil contains essential vitamins such as Vitamin B, E and key minerals such as zinc, copper which are beneficial for soft lips and skin. For fresh and soft lips, jojoba oil can be gently massaged on the lips to ensure no dryness and cracks.
